Despite small turnout, Labour holds seat in south Wales with reduced majority
Labour has held on to the Newport West parliamentary seat following a byelection fought against the backdrop of Brexit chaos, but all parties said they had heard anger, frustration and mistrust on the doorstep.
The seat in south Wales is seen as a Labour stronghold and was held by the veteran MP Paul Flynn for 32 years until his death in February.
