2020 isn't just about the White House, and Republicans are raising vats of cash to keep the Senate

The 2018 Senate map was brutal for Democrats, but in 2020, it’s the Republicans who’ll be playing defense, with 22 incumbents up for re-election. They’re not going to be caught sleeping, though. Republican senators with 2020 campaigns are fundraising like demons.

Five Republican incumbents—including Colorado’s Cory Gardner and Arizona’s Martha McSally, two of the most vulnerable—raised $2 million in the first three months of 2019. Every single Republican incumbent in a potential battleground has raised at least $1 million.

The good news is that Colorado and Arizona Democrats are also doing well at fundraising; in Arizona, Mark Kelly raised a whopping $4.1 million. But Democrats need strong recruits in key states like Georgia, where Democrats hope to get Stacey Abrams to run, as well as in Iowa, Maine, and North Carolina. And, of course Beto O’Rourke elected to run for president rather than challenging John Cornyn in Texas.

Democrats need to gain three or four seats in the Senate to retake the majority. Republicans are ready to do whatever it takes to prevent that.

Can you chip in $1 to help Democrats win each of these seven critical Senate seats?
